I paid for Platinum but the app still shows ads.
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases. That re-reads your entitlement from the App Store. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase; restores are tied to the account, not the device.
How do I cancel Platinum?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tip Calculator % Platinum → Cancel. The lifetime purchase is one-time and has nothing to cancel.
Receipt scanning says I’m out of scans.
The free version includes three scans a month, which reset at the start of each month. Failed scans don’t count against the quota. Platinum removes the limit, or you can always type the total in by hand, which is never limited.
The scan read the wrong total.
Faded thermal paper, creases and glare are the usual causes. Flatten the receipt, get even light on it, and keep the whole total line inside the frame. The detected total is always editable before you confirm, so you can correct it in place.
My history is missing after changing phones.
History is stored on the device. iCloud sync is a Platinum feature: with Platinum enabled and iCloud Drive on, entries mirror to your private iCloud database and appear on your other devices. Without it, nothing transfers automatically.
How do I delete a history entry, or all of them?
Swipe left on any row to delete it, with no confirmation dialog. To remove everything, delete the app; all local data goes with it. If you use iCloud sync, deleting an entry removes it from your other devices too.
Can I export my tips?
Yes, with Platinum: the share button on the History screen exports a CSV you can send anywhere or open in a spreadsheet.
Currency conversion isn’t showing live rates.
Conversion is a Platinum feature and needs a network connection to refresh rates; cached rates are used when you’re offline. Changing your display currency, on the other hand, is free and works offline.
Can I turn off the vibration on every tap?
Yes: Settings → Haptics inside the app. The app also honours the system Reduce Motion setting for its animations.
Is there an iPad, Mac, Android or web version?
No. It’s an iPhone app for iOS 17 and later. It will run on an iPad in iPhone compatibility mode, but it isn’t designed for that screen.

Platinum is billed by Apple, not by us, so cancellations and refunds go through Apple. Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refunds are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't see your payment details or issue refunds directly, but tell us what went wrong and we'll help you get it sorted.
Feature requests are welcome
The app is deliberately small: it calculates a tip, splits it, and remembers it. If something is missing from that job, say so, because those requests get built. Requests that would turn it into an expense tracker probably won't.
